Genel Transport Forwarding & Trade Ltd completed delivery of MAN main ship-engine from the production plant in Augsburg, Germany to the shipyard at Yalova in Turkey. Cargo details 8,40 x 3,20 x 4,40 // 90 tons.
To optimize the delivery time and the costs, the combination of various transport modes has been used during the movement of the engine. At first, the engine carried by road transport from MAN Augsburg factory to Antwerp with a modular trailer. Upon arrival to Antwerp, it is transferred on mafi trailer for further transport by RORO ship to Gemlik Port
Upon discharge of the engine, another transfer made, and the engine is loaded on a modular trailer in Gemlik port and delivered to shipyard in Yalova, at a distance of 60 kms.
It was a time-critical heavy lift cargo for shipyard. Upon arrival to Gemlik, the entire operation to clear the engine from the customs, transshipment to the modular trailer and the delivery to shipyard took only 18 hours, thanks to the dedicated and professional performance of our project team. Such a short time frame was even above the expectation of the engineers at the shipyard and they named it “an amazing performance”.
